The newly leased Airbus A320, which is the latest addition to the Solomon Airlines fleet has arrived in Melbourne Australia to receive its new Solomon Airlines livery. The new aircraft with 20 big business class seats and 120 economy is due to operate its first service in July and it is planned to use the aircraft on flights to PNG and Fiji via Vanuatu plus the prime routing four times weekly between Honiara and Brisbane.
The aircraft arrived in Melbourne from Tucson Arizona and will be undergo full checks and registration before being flown by Solomon Airlines pilots and cabin crew.



SOLOMON Airlines is pleased to announce that it will be introducing an additional and much needed Dash 8 flight on Sundays to From Honiara to the major ports in the Western Province.
Solomon Airlines is introducing a fourth service to and from Brisbane, Australia, starting 5 December 2010. The national carrier currently flies three times a week on the route.
Solomon Airlines has confirmed its intention to commence operating the Honiara to Port Moresby route in July 2010, subject to Government approvals and its application to PNG Civil Aviation Authority for a Foreign Air Operators Certificate (FAOC).
Solomon Airlines confirmed last week that it has signed a historic agreement to bring a Dash8 aircraft into its Domestic operation from the 7th December and will remain part of its fleet for a longer term.
Solomon Airlines announced that it has sent three (3) flight attendants to Port Moresby for training on the Airlines PNG Dash8 aircraft in preparation of a possible long term arrangement for the Dash8 operations in Solomon Islands.
